The last weekend of July is a very special one for Carlo and I as it is our anniversary. This year we are celebrating our 11th year living in sin! Originally, I was going to stay in Ibiza alone for the weekend as Carlo had DJ gigs in Eastern Europe but thankfully there was a change in plans and we were able to stay on the island to celebrate. Initially we were brainstorming of different places to go when we decided instead of spending all kinds on money on flights, we can just stay put and look for something different and new to do right here in Ibiza.
We couldn’t be happier with this decision as we found an amazing all-inclusive hotel in the North of the island called Sensimar. The price was very reasonable and there are different food and drink packages available. We aren’t big drinkers so we decided to go with the half-board option with breakfast and dinner included. We were pleasantly surprised with how amazing the food was. Often at all-inclusive hotels the food quality lacks and can be very repetitive. This was not the case here. The breakfast buffet has everything one can want including the option to make eggs any style you like as well as crepes. The dinner buffet had different options every day and was just so good!

When we first arrived, the staff were so welcoming and pleasant. They took us straight to the bar, gave us complimentary champagne and we filled out the necessary forms to register. There was someone there to help us with our luggage and we were shown to our room. The room was small but well-lit and clean and had a very nice bathroom and shower as well. The hotel is adults only which is a very welcome bonus for couples or friends vacationing without children looking for a calm, quiet and relaxing trip.

Once we were settled in, we went straight to the beach to relax. The hotel walks out onto Cala Portinax Petit and it is absolutely breathtaking. The water is clear turquoise, full of fish and so refreshing. The beach itself isn’t busy at all which is so nice especially when you are looking to decompress. The surrounding restaurants are all facing the beach with amazing views of the water and play music just loud enough to enjoy from the beach.

We went for lunch at one of the restaurants ZULU Lounge. It is a Mexican/ Mediterranean cuisine and seriously had some of the best beef tacos and chicken fajitas that I’ve had in a long time. The view was beautiful and the food was amazing!

There isn’t much to do in the area so we decided it would be fun to rent a paddle boat for an hour! I loved being able to take the boat out and spend some time out on the sea with Carlo for a very reasonable 17 euros! We had many laughs as being in the middle of the water is not his favourite thing, but he’s so good to me and did it anyways! They do have an option to go on a glass bottom boat which is definitely cool, but I have a waterproof GoPro camera so I just stuck it under water and took the pictures instead. I also rented a kayak for an hour for 10 euros and spent an hour on my own exploring a bit farther out while getting a good little workout. Overall, we had a super awesome day! After the beach we showered up and headed to dinner. They do have a terrace that overlooks the beach where you can drink into the evening but after the sunset we were more down with watching Neflix and chillin’.
